<h2>Because protecting children and our workforce is an act of love. </h2>
We respectfully call on the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers, and Santa Clara City officials to publicly release the full report of EMF measurements in the practice facility and playing fields located near the electrical substation adjacent to the 49ers training facility and Youth Soccer fields located at the Levi’s Stadium. 
The electric substation, as well as the overhead and underground high voltage power lines serving the facility, generate <a href="https://ehsciences.org/powerlines-emf-elf-magnetic-fields-health/" target="_blank">EMFs</a>. After a <a href="https://peteranthonycowan.substack.com/p/could-chronic-emf-exposure-from-a" target="_blank">Substack post by Peter Cowan </a> sparked viral news coverage, the team hired an unnamed consultant to take professional measurements, which the team reports were “400 times less than unsafe zones,” so “we're in a safe place at work.” However, the report itself and the basis for such safety claims have not been made public.

Safety requires transparency.&nbsp;
Full transparency regarding the professionally measured EMF levels is essential for players, employees, visitors, and especially the children who use the soccer fields.
In the United States, there are no federal health-based safety standards for long-term EMF exposure. The industry-created and referenced limits of the IEEE and ICNIRP only address short-term health effects, but they were not designed to protect against the health effects of long-term daily exposure. Many countries have adopted<a href="https://ehsciences.org/powerlines-emf-elf-magnetic-fields-health/#UEEMF-Global-Policies-To-Min-Exposure" target="_blank"> risk mitigation policies</a> to reduce public exposure thousands of times lower than IEEE/ICNIRP limits, often down to EMF mG levels below 3 - 4 mG, particularly near homes and schools. 
In California, new schools must be located at <a href="https://ehsciences.org/powerlines-emf-elf-magnetic-fields-health/#UEEMF-Exposure-At-School" target="_blank"><ins>specific distances </ins></a><ins>f</ins>rom high-voltage power lines. 
We respectfully request:

<li>Disclosure of any actions Santa Clara officials are taking to evaluate and ensure safety at the youth playing fields.</li>
<li>Ongoing public measurement and public reporting of the EMF levels in public areas.</li>
