APCA needs your help fixing the dysfunctional National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) that has irrationally overturned decades of labor law precedent and hurt employees, employers, and the economy. The NLRB’s radical interpretation of the National Labor Relations Act under the Biden administration’s NLRB appointees has come to an end. Now President Trump’s qualified NLRB nominees deserve swift confirmation by the U.S. Senate.&nbsp;
Trump NLRB nominee James Murphy, a former career official with the NLRB, awaits a full Senate confirmation vote following his approval on October 9 by the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee.
The HELP Committee also cleared Crystal Carey to serve as the General Counsel of the NLRB. Carey will help steer the NLRB towards common-sense application of the National Labor Relations Act.&nbsp;
APCA, along with our coalition partners, have sent letters to the U.S. Senate expressing support for Murphy and Carey’s nominations to the NLRB.&nbsp;&nbsp;
But the Senate needs to hear from constituents directly that a functioning and neutral NLRB is important.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Urge the U.S. Senate to Confirm President Trump's NLRB Nominees

As a voter whose job and business are affected by the decisions and rulemakings of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), I write to express support for James Murphy, President Donald Trump’s nominee to serve as a NLRB member.  In addition, I write in support President Trump’s nomination of Crystal Carey to serve as the General Counsel of the NLRB. 

Murphy and Carey’s prior service at the NLRB and career experience in labor management relations have prepared them to help steer the NLRB towards common-sense application of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA).
 
Both nominees have advanced out of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee on October 9, 2025. The U.S. Senate must swiftly confirm these nominees to fulfill the NLRB’s mission of acting as a neutral arbiter of the NLRA.

It is essential to the United States’ economic well-being to have a functional NLRB. Recently, this has not been the case, as the NLRB has been without a quorum since January of this year and the prior board overturned decades of precedent. Confirmation of Murphy and Carey will benefit both workers and the regulated community by providing clarity and stability to labor-management relations.  

For these reasons, we urge your support for the nominations of James Murphy and Crystal Carey and recommend the swift confirmation of these qualified candidates.
