Say No to HB 7275 - Premium Cigar Shipping Ban
HB 7275 was recently introduced in the Connecticut General Assembly and would ban direct-to-consumer shipments of all tobacco products, including premium cigars.
An exemption for premium cigars was briefly added during the committee process, but it included an unrealistic $30 wholesale price threshold. That exemption has since been removed, and the bill now appears to revert to its original form—banning all premium cigar shipments to consumers in the state.
If enacted, HB 7275 would block Connecticut residents from purchasing premium cigars by mail, harming consumers, retailers, and small businesses alike.
