This year’s FY2026-2027 Budget delivers considerable funding to mental health fields such as behavioral health services, disability support, and community-based crisis response. &nbsp;
In particular, NAMI-NYC received a historic $500,000 allocation in the budget which will allow NAMI-NYC’s programs to develop beyond their current scope, making care more accessible for our communities.&nbsp;

Congratulations on passing the 2026-2027 State Budget! As an advocate with the National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City, I deeply appreciate your choice to support the inclusion of funding for our mental health programming. This will have a positive impact on improving mental health supports and education for New Yorkers throughout NYC and beyond.

The allocation of $500,000, sponsored by Assembly Member Jo Anne Simon and approved in the budget, brings the organization closer to its vision of a world where all people affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a community that cares.
