Social Services Block Grant Under Threat!
Tell your Senators and Representative to Protect SSBG
The new 119th Congress is now underway and is immediately considering potentially deep cuts through a process called reconciliation. A key threat to Adult Protective Services is the consideration of eliminating the Social Services Block Grant (SSBG). A majority of APS programs utilize SSBG, including some states that nearly fully fund APS through SSBG. It also funds many services clients rely on to remain in their home and communities including meals, case management, and transportation. Elimination or even deep cuts would be detrimental to APS and people with disabilities and older adults.
Tell your Congressional delegation to protect the Social Services Block Grant from cuts. Congress needs to know that SSBG is an effective and vital source of funding for APS nationwide.
