I am writing to encourage you to support appropriations for Lyme and Tickborne disease by signing an appropriations letter that is currently circulating in the Senate. This appropriations letter requests an additional $2M in FY24 funding for the DoD CDMRP Tick-borne Disease Research Program.  Nearly 500,000 Americans (CDC estimate) get Lyme and tick-borne disease each year and this research program is designed protect our military and their dependents from the threat of tick-borne diseases. The program also has important impact all Americans.

The Tick-borne Disease Research Program (TBDRP) was established in FY2016 and supports innovative and impactful research to address the fundamental issues and gaps in tick-borne diseases.  A key hallmark of the TBDRP funding includes the involvement of Lyme and tick-borne disease experts outside of the federal government in a two-tier review process.

Please help us get better diagnostics and therapies for Lyme and tickborne disease.
