Legal Immigration and Border Enforcement Reform This Year (LIBERTY) Campaign

This week, NUCA, alongside the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and over 400 other groups across the United States, launched the pro-business Legal Immigration and Border Enforcement Reform This Year (LIBERTY) campaign. NUCA members know our nation’s border security and legal immigration systems are broken. An outdated and inefficient legal immigration system has directly contributed to the significant security challenges on our southern border. Those seeking to lawfully enter the country struggle with a complicated, sluggish, and obsolete system, and thus millions turn to crossing the border illegally. Our immigration laws must be dynamic to respond to the needs of the American economy--and meet the growing need for new employees to help build the underground infrastructure of tomorrow. While this issue may be contentious, there are several areas where both parties have common ground - NUCA needs your help to push for action that can for the basis for compromise. With billions of dollars in federal infrastructure funding soon to drive even more demand in the market, we can’t afford to wait to address this crucial issue any longer.
