The Brain Injury Insurance & Legal System Modernization Act of 2025
Support reforms to our auto insurance and legal system to increase resources for people with brain injury (SF2639 / HF2494)
Share Your Insurance/Legal System Story
Most of us think that the legal and insurance system will take care of us if we become injured in an auto related accident, especially if that injury is severe or caused by others. Unfortunately, for many people with brain injury, that is not the case. Often the coverage is woefully inadequate. Minnesota's insurance limits were set decades ago and need to be updated and modernized to reflect the reality of today's cost of brain injury care.
If you or someone you love received a traumatic brain injury (TBI) as a result of an auto related accident and then experienced challenges dealing with the insurance and/or legal system we want to hear from you. We also want to make sure Minnesota policymakers and elected officials hear your story so that we can reform and modernize our system to better meet the needs of those suffering a TBI as a result.
Please reflect upon your own experience interacting with the insurance and legal system and how it has impacted access to services and supports that you needed in your recovery.
We know these stories can be long and complex, but try to think of 1 or 2 prime examples of the barriers you faced and the impact they had on the quality of your life. Then, use the form on the right to type a short message where it says "...this is my story..." This will automatically go to your State Senator and Representative when you click the purple send message button on the lower right.
