<p>We would like to thank the City Council Members who worked to ensure New Yorkers can receive mental health support that never stops improving. The passing of Intro 0741 establishes a task force dedicated to strengthening the NYC988 helpline through research, evaluation, and reform.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>Thanks to the Council’s efforts, this initiative will create culturally responsive and trauma-informed training for counselors, break down language barriers to service, expand 988’s reach to underserved NYC communities, and release an educational campaign to spread public awareness of 988 and other key mental health resources across the city.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
