Urge Governor Murphy to VETO A4652 / S3507 and Defend Our Right to Protest

Take action

New Jersey is on the verge of enacting a deeply harmful law that would endanger the rights of all marginalized communities. Bill A4652 / S3507 has passed both the Senate and the Assembly and now awaits Governor Murphy’s signature.

If signed into law, this bill would criminalize peaceful assembly and create vague, far-reaching restrictions on which protests are considered lawful. Its language opens the door to prosecuting individuals who organize or participate in demonstrations, potentially charging them with disorderly conduct.

This legislation poses a serious threat to our constitutional rights to free speech and assembly. It disproportionately targets marginalized communities, undermining their ability to protest injustice and advocate for critical issues.

The right to protest is a cornerstone of democracy and a vital tool in the fight for civil and human rights. If we don’t act now, these fundamental freedoms could be severely restricted.

Governor Murphy has the power to stop this—but only if we raise our voices.

Urge him to veto A4652 / S3507 and protect our right to protest.
