Take Action for Oxygen Access
Support the SOAR Act (S.1406/H.R. 2902)
We need your help to ensure every patient who depends on supplemental oxygen can breathe easier. The Supplemental Oxygen Access Reform (SOAR) Act S. 1406 /H.R. 2902 will fix Medicare barriers.
What the SOAR Act Does
- Removes oxygen from Medicare’s competitive bidding program so suppliers can offer all delivery types, including liquid oxygen.
- Creates a service benefit for respiratory therapists to assist patients at home.
- Establishes a Patient Bill of Rights and standardized documentation to make oxygen care patient-centered and consistent.
Why It Matters
Too many patients are being forced to use heavy tanks that don’t meet their needs. This bill works to improve access to portable, high-flow options that restore independence and mobility.
What You Can Do
1. Call or email your Representative and Senators ask them to cosponsor the SOAR Act (S. 1406 / H.R. 2902).
2. Share your story about how oxygen access affects you or your patients.
3. Thank lawmakers who already support the bill.
In September, over 100 advocates held 275 meetings in one day during AARC’s Fly-In proving the power of your voice. Let’s keep that momentum going!
