Introduce Yourself to Your Legislators and Share Your Nursing Story and Interests!

Week 2 | Your Personal Story & Areas of Interest

My name is [Your Name], and I am a [nurse/nursing student] living in your district in [City or County]. I’m reaching out as part of the Virginia Nurses Association’s June Nurses Month of Action to introduce myself and share why nursing advocacy matters to me.

I became a nurse because [share your “why nursing?” story here — for example, a personal experience, patient interaction, family influence, or what inspired you to enter healthcare].

As someone who works closely with patients and communities, I care deeply about policies that impact healthcare access and the nursing profession. Some of the issues I’m especially passionate about include: [OPTIONAL: Share more about one or two policy areas that matter most to you and why.]

Nurses are often on the front lines of healthcare challenges and solutions, and I appreciate leaders who are willing to listen to the experiences of healthcare professionals in their communities.
