URGENT ACTION: Tell Your Kentucky Representatives: Do Not Overturn the Veto of SB199

Bayer-Monsanto, Big Chemical, and Big Ag successfully pushed the Bayer-Monsanto Protection Act through the state legislature in Kentucky. But today Governor Beshear vetoed the bill and the House will soon vote to override his veto.
Senate Bill 199 would give pesticide manufacturers immunity from pesticide-harm lawsuits in the state. SB199, sponsored by Senator Jason Howell (R-District 1) and co-sponsored by Senator Craig Richardson (R-District 3), was introduced on February 13, 2026, and moved rapidly to pass the Senate on March 19, 2026. The Speaker of the House quickly enrolled and signed the bill on the same day.
SB199 was delivered to Governor Andy Beshear’s desk for his signature. But Governor Beshear VETOED the bill today, March 31, 2026.
While the KY Senate already has the votes to overturn Gov Beshear’s veto, we still have an opportunity to stop a veto in the KY House, where we only need to flip a few Republicans.
There is no time to waste, as a vote to overturn Gov Beshear’s veto in the House could occur as soon as this evening, March 31, or tomorrow. Email your House Representatives now and demand that they allow Governor Beshear’s veto of SB199 to stand.
