Virginia’s next budget could be big for the James - but we need your help!

We have until 2025 to reduce pollution from our waterways and meet our Chesapeake Bay cleanup goals.

When the General Assembly meets in two months, they will begin negotiations on Virginia’s 2023-2024 state budget. We have until 2025 to reduce pollution from our waterways and meet our Chesapeake Bay cleanup goals. That means that this next budget will be a big deal for the Chesapeake Bay and for the James.

Over the past four years, Governor Northam and Virginia’s state legislators have made major investments in clean water. Now, the Northam Administration will draft one more budget for the Commonwealth before turning it over to the General Assembly and Governor-elect Youngkin to finalize. Help us ask Governor Northam to craft a budget that starts the coming legislative session off right and puts Virginia on the right track to cleaner, healthier waterways.
