For nearly 60 years, the Older Americans Act has helped millions of older adults age with dignity by supporting essential services, including nutrition programs, transportation, caregiver support, health promotion, and community-based services. These programs not only help older adults remain healthy and independent, but they also foster social connection—reducing isolation and loneliness, which are increasingly recognized as major public health challenges.

The legislation builds on broad bipartisan work that began in 2024 and includes updated authorization levels to help meet today's growing needs.
